Organ concert, Klaus Sonnleitner
On July 19, 2022, the “Mother Of Pearl” collective invited to an organ playing at the “Mother Of Pearl” pavilion. Klaus Sonnleitner, the collegiate organist in St. Florian, played on a processional organ and a portative.
The processional organ, dating from the first half of the 17th century, was provided by the Augustinian Canons Regular Monastery of St. Florian for the organ playing. Inspired by the pavilion, the monastery ponds and nature, Klaus Sonnleitner improvised on the organ, which is one of the oldest organs in Austria. The portative is a replica of a historical organ that fits into a backpack. While the left hand operates the hand bellows, the right hand plays on the keyboard. Klaus Sonnleitner played selected compositions from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance on the portativ.
